On 7 July 2026, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Tawadchai Suppadit, President of Nakhon Phanom University, joined the opening ceremony of the 2026 Phaya Si Sattanakarat Festival and took part in the traditional Bai Sri procession alongside government officials, private-sector representatives, and residents.
Held from 7–13 July, the festival celebrates the spiritual heritage of Nakhon Phanom while promoting cultural tourism. NPU's participation reflects its commitment to preserving local traditions and Mekong culture. The university will also lead more than 6,000 traditional dancers in the grand worship ceremony on 12 July.
