Support Grows for NPU’s New Medical School

On May 17, 2026, a delegation of Chiang Mai University alumni led by Dr. Alongkot Maneekas, Member of Parliament for Nakhon Phanom Province, visited Nakhon Phanom University to congratulate the university on the Cabinet’s approval of its new Faculty of Medicine project.
The delegation met with Prof. Emeritus Dr. Tawadchai Suppadit, President of Nakhon Phanom University and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, along with the university’s medical school leadership team, to discuss future collaboration and the development of medical education and healthcare systems in the upper northeastern region of Thailand.
The newly approved 10-year project marks a major step forward in expanding medical education opportunities and strengthening healthcare capacity in the region.
