NPU Unveils Cultural Tourism Journey Along the Mekong

On May 10, 2026, Nakhon Phanom University joined Mahasarakham University and Nakhon Phanom Municipality to launch “Muan Chuen Maha Molam: Experiencing Culture and Naga Heritage,” a new creative tourism programme designed to showcase the cultural identity of the Mekong region.
Part of the “Maha Molam Festival,” the programme combines traditional molam performance, Mekong River culture, local cuisine, and Naga beliefs into an immersive travel experience aimed at promoting Isan cultural capital through tourism and innovation.
The two-day programme featured river cruises, colonial heritage tours, Vietnamese cuisine, VR molam exhibitions, and live performances by Thai and Lao folk artists, reflecting efforts to transform molam into an international creative and cultural soft power platform.
