NPU Launches 27th Mekong Agriculture Fair: Advancing Sustainable Farming under Royal Patronage

Nakhon Phanom University (NPU) officially launched the 27th Mekong Agriculture Fair today, under the theme "Advancing Agriculture under Royal Patronage towards Sustainable Practices." The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Pongtai Taiyothin, Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, alongside Acting Major Adisak Noisuwan, Governor of Nakhon Phanom, Emeritus Prof. Dr. Tawadchai Suppadit, President of NPU, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Saowakon Hemwong, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology. This regional flagship event aims to transform the Mekong sub-region into a hub for smart farming innovation through the integration of AI and local wisdom.
Emeritus Prof. Dr. Tawadchai emphasized the university’s commitment to empowering next-generation agri-entrepreneurs and scaling academic research for practical community use. The fair features a comprehensive range of activities, including the 4th Mekong Agri-Resilience Conference, specialized workshops on Wagyu crossbreeding and international-standard food processing, and skills competitions showcasing agricultural drones and culinary innovation using local Hom Mali Rice. By fostering a collaborative ecosystem between the public and private sectors, NPU continues to drive the grassroots economy and ensure long-term food security for the region.
