       การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาค่านิยมความเป็นเมียและค่านิยมอื่นของคนไทยในละครโทรทัศน์เรื่อง “เมีย 2018” ผ่านองค์ประกอบการเล่าเรื่องตามกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ วิธีดำเนินการวิจัยคือการวิเคราะห์ตัวบท (Textual Analysis) โดยวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบของการเล่าเรื่อง ได้แก่ โครงเรื่อง แก่นเรื่อง ความขัดแย้ง บทสนทนา ตัวละคร ฉาก มุมมอง และสัญลักษณ์พิเศษ ของละครโทรทัศน์ดังกล่าว ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ค่านิยมหลักที่ละครโทรทัศน์เรื่อง “เมีย 2018” สื่อสารมายังผู้ชม คือค่านิยมที่คนเป็นเมียออกแบบชีวิตความเป็นเมียด้วยตนเองได้ โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องยึดติดกับรูปแบบของเมีย ที่สังคมไทยปลูกฝังมาแต่โบราณ และไม่ต้องพึ่งพิงสามี เป็นเมียที่มีความเพียบพร้อมทั้งในบทบาทของเมียและแม่ และในขณะเดียวกันก็มีอิสระในการดำเนินชีวิต นอกจากนี้ ละครยังได้เสนอภาพตัวแทนค่านิยมด้านบวกของคนไทย เช่น ค่านิยมเกี่ยวกับภาระบุญคุณ ค่านิยมเกี่ยวกับพุทธศาสนา และภาพตัวแทนค่านิยมที่มีแนวโน้มเปลี่ยนแปลงไปทางลบ ได้แก่ ค่านิยมเรื่องการรักนวลสงวนตัวของสตรี ประโยชน์ที่ได้รับจากการวิจัย คือ ส่งเสริมให้ผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องในการผลิตสื่อต่างๆ เผยแพร่และสื่อสารค่านิยมอย่างเหมาะสมเพื่อปรับกระบวนทัศน์คนในสังคมที่มีต่อสตรี รวมถึงค่านิยมอันพึงประสงค์อื่นๆ ของสังคมไทย และฟื้นฟูค่านิยม คุณธรรม และจริยธรรม ซึ่งเป็นกลไกสำคัญที่ทำหน้าที่กำกับพฤติกรรมของคน เพื่อสร้างวิธีคิดที่ถูกต้องอันเป็นการพัฒนาคุณภาพของคนและสังคม

       This research aims to study the value of wife and other Thai values in the Thai digital TV drama called “Mia (Wife) 2018” through the new narrative paradigm. The methodology is textual analysis. The researcher analyzed the value of wife and other Thai values communicated through narrative components: plot, theme, conflicts, characters, setting, dialogue, points of view, and special symbols in the drama. The main results are twofold. Firstly, the core value of wife presented in “Mia (Wife) 2018” is the by-design wife. While comparing to the traditional definition of wife in Thai society that values roles and duties of wife in terms of serving her family and depending on husband, the wife in “Wife 2018” represents a wife, who is independent, and plays the roles of wife and mother perfectly while choosing her ways of life freely. Secondly, apart from the value of wife, “Mia (Wife) 2018” also communicates other positive Thai values, such as debt of gratitude, Buddhist value, and etc. However, the drama presents the sexual value of being self-contained to preserve virginity of Thai women in a negative way. Regarding the contributions of the study, the TV drama producers, as well as other media producers can adjust the way to communicate values through the media appropriately as for formulating a paradigm shift toward women and other desirable values of people in Thai society. Moreover, restoration of values, ethics, and morality which are the main mechanism for guiding desirable behaviors can improve the quality of people and society.
