ปัญหาพุทธศาสนาในสังคมไทยตามทัศนะของสมเด็จพระพุทธโฆษาจารย์ (ป.อ. ปยุตฺโต) The Problem of Buddhism in Thailand in View of Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacharya (P.A. Payutto)
Currently, there are many problems related to Buddhism. The objectives of this article aims to
study problems of Buddhism occurring in the Thai society that have been analyzed by the view of Somdet
Phra Buddhaghosacharya (P.A. Payutto). During the past 60 years, P.A. Payutto has pointed out a large
number of problems of Buddhism in Thailand, and suggested solutions and possible solutions as for
solving such complicated cases. This paper applies theory of Mitchel Foucault’s Discourse Analysis to
examine , problems of Thailand’s Buddhism from the three aspects: First, several complex problems
related to the patronage and hierarchical systems between Buddhism and the state or government in the
Thai society, 2) conflicts of Buddhism in Thailand, and 3) problems of superstitious problems in the Thai
society. The analysis of this paper suggests that such problems as revealed in Thai Buddhism are
complicated and hardly to be understood due to the fact that those problematic issues are related to
historical-structural based of the society. This paper, therefore, contributes to the accurate solutions to
solve problems that have been observed in Thai Buddhism
