Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to investigate and compare the state and problems of the management of student
development activities in the key stages 3 and 4 in schools under the Offices of Nakhon Phanom Educational Service
Area as perceived by school administrators, heads of student development affairs, and teachers, all of which were
classified by their positions, fields of study and sizes of schools. The target population of 1,347 consisted of
51 school administrators, 51 heads of student development affairs, and 1,245 teachers. Samples of the study,
selected by multi-stage sampling, were 51 school administrators, 51 heads of student development affairs, and 199
teachers. Instrument used to collect data was a set of researcher-constructed questionnaires which consisted of
2 parts–the first part’s questions of which discrimination power and reliability were 0.42-0.88 and 0.98, asking about
the state of the management of student development activities in schools, whereas the questions of the second part
of which discrimination power and reliability were 0.39-0.77 and 0.96, were about the problems of the management.
Statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test (independent samples), and
One-way ANOVA. Results of the study were as follows : 1) School administrators, heads of student development
affairs, and teachers’ views of the state of the management of student development activities in the key stages 3 and
4 in schools under the Offices of Nakhon Phanom Educational Service Area as a whole were at the high level.
2) School administrators, heads of student development affairs, and teachers’ views of the problems of the
management of student development activities in the key stages 3 and 4 in schools under the Offices of Nakhon
Phanom Educational Service Area as a whole were at the low level. 3) School administrators, heads of student
development affairs, and teachers’ views of the state of the management of student development activities in the key
stages 3 and 4 in schools under the Offices of Nakhon Phanom Educational Service Area were not different at .05.
4) School administrators, heads of student development affairs, and teachers’ views of the problems of the
management of student development activities in the key stages 3 and 4 in schools under the Offices of Nakhon
Phanom Educational Service Area were not different at .05. 5) School administrators, heads of student development
affairs, and teachers’ views of the state of the management of student development activities in the key stages 3 and
4 in schools under the Offices of Nakhon Phanom Educational Service Area classified by the size of their schools
were not different at .05. 6) School administrators, heads of student development affairs, and teachers’ views of the
problems of the management of student development activities in the key stages 3 and 4 in schools under the Offices
of Nakhon Phanom Educational Service Area classified by the size of their schools were not different at .05.
7) Areas of the management of student development activities in the key stages 3 and 4 in schools under the Offices
of Nakhon Phanom Educational Service Area that need to be improved, all suggestions for which were presented by
the author, included the process of putting the activities into practice, and the evaluation of the management of
student development activities.
