NPU and CUPT Push “Transformative IROs” to Drive AI in Higher Education

Nakhon Phanom University, represented by Dr. Kantapop Buathong and Ms. Nutwikan Hanrin, participated in the “IRO Networking Day 2026” organized by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) on March 31 - April 1, 2026. The workshop gathered delegates from 38 universities nationwide to redefine the future of international relations in higher education.
The event centered on the transition toward “Transformative IROs,” empowering personnel to move beyond administrative coordination into strategic leadership roles. Key focus areas included integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics to streamline operations, alongside developing “Internationalization at Home (IaH)” through virtual exchange programs.
By aligning with the BCG Economy Model and addressing global geopolitical shifts, Nakhon Phanom University aims to cultivate global citizens and enhance its digital competency. This participation marks a decisive step in the university’s mission to foster a modern, sustainable, and internationally competitive academic environment.
