On March 5, 2026, Nakhon Phanom University, led by the Sports Science Program, Faculty of Management Science and Information Technology, signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). The five-year partnership aims to strengthen collaboration in sports management and sports science development. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr. Tawadchai Suppadit, President of Nakhon Phanom University, and Mr. Somphong Juntee, Director of SAT Region 3.

The collaboration focuses on academic exchange, personnel development, and the integration of sports science to enhance athletic potential at both local and national levels. The event was witnessed by key academic leaders, including Asst. Prof. Acting Sub Lt. Phumin Hongma, Dean of the Faculty of Management Science and Information Technology; Dr. Sorawit Ngamsutti, Vice Dean; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayanon Awikunprasert. Representatives from the Sports Authority of Thailand included Mr. Passakorn Puttanupakorn, Director of SAT Nakhon Phanom; Dr. Saowanee Buppaboon, Director of SAT Mukdahan; and Ms. Orapanee Rungporncharoenpong, Director of SAT Sakon Nakhon.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening the regional sports network and advancing sustainable sports excellence in the Upper Northeast.
