NPU’s That Phanom College Hosts 11th Mekong Innovation and Robotics Competition

On February 14, 2026, That Phanom College, Nakhon Phanom University, launched the “11th Mekong Innovation and Invention Competition.” The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Surasit Wachirakhachon, Vice President for Human Resources, with Asst. Prof. Jutamart Jaisabai, Director of That Phanom College, is delivering the project report.
The event focused on autonomous robotics, providing a hands-on learning platform for youth in three age categories: Under 15, Under 19, and Open. The competition aims to foster analytical thinking, teamwork, and a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through practical application.
This year’s competition featured 10 distinct categories, including:
Rescue Robots: Intermediate levels (U15/U19/Lego) and manual control (U19).
Sumo Robots: 500g and 1.5kg classes (both Manual and Autonomous).
Special Highlights: The "Nakhon Phanom Sightseeing Robot" and a Football Robot workshop/competition.
This initiative serves as a vital hub for regional education networks, empowering the next generation of innovators across the Mekong River Basin to showcase their potential and exchange technological expertise.
