NPU Team Wins Award at UBI-Alpha 2026 for Environmental Innovation

On February 3, 2026, the Enterprise Incubation Center of Nakhon Phanom University led a student team from Nawa College, Nakhon Phanom University, under the name “NA WA NPU-TWO,” to compete in the UBI-Alpha: Business Contest 2026 (Northeastern Regional Round) at the Northeast Science Park 1, Khon Kaen University.
The team received a Consolation Prize in the Green and Climate Change Solution category for their innovation: a bamboo fiber plant pot production machine made from bamboo weaving waste. The project addresses environmental issues by reducing open burning, adding value to local materials, and offering potential for commercial development.
The team members are Mr. Surayut Khammanop, Mr. Akkaradech Sapnak, and Mr. Pongsakorn Manthong, under the supervision of Mr. Somchai Wachum and Mr. Noppol Raksaken. Asst also supported them. Prof. Dr. Tipaporn Homdee, Manager of the Enterprise Incubation Center, Nakhon Phanom University, and the UBI team.
This achievement reflects the students’ capability to develop practical, community-based innovations while strengthening entrepreneurial and presentation skills.
