On June 26, 2024, Nakhon Phanom University held an orientation and Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony for new students for the academic year 2024. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Supadit, Acting President of Nakhon Phanom University, who welcomed and delivered a speech to the new students (Kankrao, 19th Generation) at the Mekong Subregion Conference Hall (Marukkhanakorn Area). The activities started at 1:00 PM, with each faculty/college club leading the freshmen into the conference hall, welcomed by senior students and mascots "Ai Ruea Fai" and "Nong Kankrao." The procession then presented the university's emblem to the stage, accompanied by university administrators, faculty/college flags, the Student Council, the Student Organization, and student clubs, with the university marching band leading the way.
This was followed by an introduction of university administrators, from vice presidents, assistant presidents, deans/directors, student council president, and student organization president, to the new students, who then participated in singing the university's song, "Nakhon Phanom University for the People," creating a heartfelt moment for the attendees. After the singing, Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Supadit officially welcomed and addressed the new students (Kankrao, 19th Generation).
At 2:30 PM, the "First Step to Nakhon Phanom University" session was held, featuring introductory lectures from four departments: Academic Services Office, Office of Academic Affairs, Digital Technology Division, and Student Development Office.
At 3:30 PM, the Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony commenced with ritual offerings and dancers. The dancers performed two sets: "Invocation of the Deities" and "Worship of Phra That Phanom," followed by the tying of sacred threads by university administrators, faculty members, and senior students to welcome the new students. A total of 2,400 new students participated, including vocational certificate (VC), advanced vocational certificate (AVC), and undergraduate students.
