The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of Phra Chen Duriyanga on the formal, non – formal and informal education systems in Western Music in Thailand. The study used qualitative research methods by historical approach and documentary approach and interviewed two key informants. The instruments used in data collection were an interview guide and a music terminology analysis form. The reliability was checked by data triangulation method. Data were analyzed by classification according to the issues under study; and then the data were linked in a consistent manner.
The findings were as follows: 1) Influence on music education in the formal system included influence on the policy and approaches to learning and teaching management of the Royal Thai Air Force Music School, as well as influence on the music word coinage for institutions of basic education and higher education in Thailand. 2) Influence on music education in the non-formal system included influence on teaching of music and improving the music band of Fine Arts Department and the Police Orchestra. 3) Influence on music education in the informal system included opening of the first private music school in Thailand, training and teaching music theory, and composing music for his students such as Sa-nga Aramphee and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Manas Pitisan
