Changes in Appearance and Identity of Khon Thammasat

     โขนธรรมศาสตร์ เป็นโขนสมัครเล่นซึ่งก่อตั้งโดย ม.ร.ว.คึกฤทธิ์ ปราโมช หลังจากที่ท่านได้เสียชีวิตไปโขนธรรมศาสตร์ก็ยังคงต้องการสืบทอดแนวความคิดของ ม.ร.ว.คึกฤทธิ์ ปราโมชอยู่ แต่เนื่องจากปัจจัยต่างๆนั้นเปลี่ยนแปลงไปมาก ทำให้โขนธรรมศาสตร์จำเป็นต้องปรับตัว และมีผลต่อการรักษาอัตลักษณ์แนวคิดเดิม การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสำคัญของโขนธรรมศาสตร์ 2) ศึกษาปัจจัยต่างๆ ที่ทำให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลง 3) ศึกษาว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงเหล่านั้น มีผลกระทบอย่างไรต่ออัตลักษณ์ของคณะโขน วิธีการวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพโดยใช้ข้อมูลจากเอกสาร ร่วมกับการสัมภาษณ์ผู้เกี่ยวข้อง เช่น ผู้แสดง ครูผู้ฝีกสอน และผู้มีส่วนร่วมอื่นๆ เพื่อหาความสัมพันธ์ของปัจจัยและผลที่เกิดขึ้น เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงของปัจจัยต่างๆมีผลต่ออัตลักษณ์และแนวคิดที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปอย่างไร
     ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) โขนธรรมศาสตร์มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปมาก โดยเฉพาะการบทบาททางเพศของนักแสดง 2) ปัจจัยที่สำคัญของการเปลี่ยนแปลงได้แก่ การย้ายวิทยาเขตไปที่รังสิต การลดความเคร่งครัดในการคัดเลือกนักแสดง และการที่มีบุคคลภายนอกเข้ามาร่วมฝึกซ้อม 3) การเปลี่ยนแปลงนั้นมีผลถึงแก่นแท้ อุดมคติ อัตลักษณ์ของโขนธรรมศาสตร์ และยังส่งผลถึงจุดประสงค์ อุดมคติ ของความเป็นโขนสมัครเล่นในธรรมศาสตร์อีกด้วย

     “Khon Thammasat” is an amateur Khon troupe founded by MR. Kukrit Pramoj in 1966. After the time of MR.Kukrit has passed, the Khon Troop tries to carry on their original identity, ideology and uniqueness. But many factors affecting Khon have been changed. These forced Khon Thammasat to adapt itself.The objectives of this research are 1) To study how Khon Thammasat has been changed in ideology and appearances. 2) To study factors that lead to changes. 3) To study how these changes affect identity of the Khon troupe. This studying employ qualitative approach by using document analysis and interviewing (with actors, former actors, advisor, teachers and others involved), collecting information and finding relationship between factors affect changes and result of the changes.
     The research find that after the time of MR. Kukrit, Khon Thammasat has been changed in gender rules and actors’ characters. These are caused by some factors : moving the main campus to Rungsit, allowing external persons (students of other institutes) to join the troupe, reducing gender discrimination in recruiting. The research can conclude that, changes of Khon Thammasat are not only in appearance but also in authenticity, identity, ideology and uniqueness. The research also find that, not only Khon Thammasat has been changed, but the main ideology and objective of amateur Khon troupe in Thammasat has been changed too.
