The Council of the University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) has been found during a university management crisis. The Government of Thailand, at that time, had promoted a new management structure. All universities, therefore, were to be operated under the Ministry of Education, not under the Department of University (currently known as the Office of Higher Education Committee or OHEC). In addition, there were other forms of contradiction among universities such as conflicts during their sport matches.
